Don't miss part 1--a pre-wedding look at the DIY details and southern charm that went into crafting this wedding. The entire bridal party was at the plantation from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning getting ready, hanging out together and talking about good old times, and getting ready for the wedding." getting ready getting ready photos First Look "I could not convince my groom to do "first look" pictures because he did not want to see me before the ceremony--but we were able to take pictures separately with our bridal party." First Look photo for southern wedding Advice you’re glad you took I am glad I took the advice to take pictures before the ceremony. I love that we were able to take pictures with the bridal party before the ceremony. That saved time after the ceremony to get to our guests at the reception. He played while the guests were being seated and then played "Somewhere over the rainbow" when the grandparents and parents walked down the aisle, "Makin plans" by Miranda Lambert when the bridesmaids walked down the aisle, and "Cannon in D" when my dad and I walked down the aisle." Wedding music diy wedding sign "The ceremony was in the front yard underneath a beautiful pergola. The reception was underneath their permanent white tent behind the house that has a brick floor, lights in the floor where the dancing normally is, a crystal chandelier, and white gossamer coming from the corners." outdoor ceremony outdoor wedding ceremony ceremony program DIY wedding sign DIY outdoor wedding puple wedding Advice you wished you’d taken? "I wish I would have slowed down and taken in the day more. It goes by so fast, like the blink of an eye, that there were many details that I do not remember. We had a large wedding of 200 people so I was not able to talk to everyone, dance to every song I wanted to, take in all the decorations, do our photo booth, or just take in the day. I wish I would have paused, slowed down, and took in everything. I also wish I had gotten our videographer to stay longer. He taped the ceremony and first dance but left after dinner. I wish I would have paid for him to stay for most of the reception since it did go by so fast." {Via Milestone Cinema, check out highlights from their wedding video here.} vintage bridal attire wedding memory board DIY wedding sign diy wedding sign diy wedding decor diy wedding sign DIY wedding cake and decor DIY food outdoor wedding buffet flower girl in purple tutu diy wedding parasols What advice would you give? "Pause, slow down, and take everything in. Do not worry about going around and talking to everyone. It's your day. They will come to you and say hello. Just have a blast being bride and groom on your wedding day and do what you want. Take every breath in because it will fly by." First dance photo father daughter dance photo Best part of the whole wedding day?  The best part had to be being surrounded by our whole bridal party all day and all of our closest friends and family. It was also amazing to be married by one of our good friends who got ordained online to marry us. It was also wonderful to hear that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding anyone had ever been to and I looked like I stepped off the front page of a magazine ;) DIY photo booth and props unique sparkler wedding photo wedding sparkler send off Wedding Stationery Mandy and Travis personalized the Graphic Bloom wedding invitation suite in their wedding colors. "It fit perfect with my "southern vintage" themed wedding and I loved how I could customize the colors and font to make it match perfectly! The stationary let us give some insight into the style and theme of our wedding with the pictures, design, colors, and font style. Our guests knew exactly that this wedding was going to be a casual, country wedding with vintage and southern charm." wedding invitation suite by MagnetStreet Weddings   Vendor Shout Out Jamie J Photography Jamie is not only an amazing photographer but a dear friend that knew exactly what I wanted. She knew that I love my pictures and wanted anything and everything captured on film. She did an amazing job capturing everything that I didn't have to time to take in during the wedding. Headcase by KB My bouquets were fabric flowers made by the amazing Kristin Blum.We did not use a florist and had no real flowers at my wedding. My centerpieces were vintage birdcages that were decorated by silk flowers. All other flowers arrangements were silk flowers as well. My bouquets were fabric flowers made by the amazing Kristin Blum. I came to her asking her to make a flower and veil that would match my champagne colored dress. I then came to her after falling in love with a fabric bouquet I saw on Pinterest. She had never made fabric bouquets but was amazing at making fabric flowers for hair clips and headbands so she took on this challenge. She ending up making amazing fabric/brooch bouquets and is now selling them in addition to her hair accessories. My favorite part is that my bouquet is now on display in my living room of my house and it will never die. Smokin Joe's Catering along with their wedding planning company, Southern Brides on a Budget My caterer was amazing and went above and beyond! Not only was the food amazing and served hot, but they went above and beyond with their setting up and decorating. They met us at the plantation on the Thursday before the wedding and stayed until 11:00pm at night to set up the drink tables, food tables, hang the parasols, and so much more. They brought along vintage suitcases, old window panes to write the menu, mason jars, vintage dresser drawers, and everything dark purple or yellow they could find to decorate the space. Everything they did turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined and they were gems to work with. They even stayed later than 1:00am to make sure everything was cleaned up from the wedding that Saturday night. Jasmine Plantation Don and Eileen Smith who own the plantation house are amazing and the sweetest couple to work with. The venue had everything included: tables, chairs, rehearsal dinner space, tent, etc. We were able to stay the entire weekend and they cooked us breakfast each morning. It was amazing being able to stay in this old plantation house all weekend with my bridal party. They house was perfect for my "southern vintage" wedding and the grounds were beautiful. DJ Barry Martin: Our DJ was an old family friend that knew exactly what we wanted to hear. Ceremony Officiant Peyton Martin: Our Pastor is a very good friend who became ordained online to marry us. He is not particularly a church person but was the perfect person to marry us. We were his first wedding. It was perfect because he knew Travis' dad and my older brother that had passed away. He was able to remember and honor them during the wedding ceremony. He had also been around the entire 7 years my husband and I have been together and even saw our relationship before we started dating. It was perfect that we had an old friend marry us that actually knew us and could speak as to why it was wonderful that we were getting married. MagnetStreet Weddings I loved how I could personalize many different designs and see a printed invite before purchasing them. I must have designed 13 save the date magnets and 5 or 6 wedding invitations on MagnetStreet's website before picking the one I wanted to order. I loved so many of there designs for all their save the dates, invitations, rsvp cards, and thank you cards. Their customer care were also so sweet and helpful. Everything shipped so fast and it was such great quality. hand painted wedding parasols Congratulations Mandy and Travis! Thanks for sharing your day with us all :) xo
