A fuchsia wedding ... is bold, bright, and oh-so-beautiful as this lovely couple showed us! Pretty fuchsia was incorporated with breezy neutrals, peach, and white across Maggie and Kevin's wedding details to paint a truly spectacular day.
With a ceremony on the serene oceanside of Virginia Beach and a gorgeous beach club reception, Maggie and Kevin's fuchsia wedding was nothing short of romantic! Their photographer did a fabulous job of capturing every swoon-worthy detail ... the scenery, gorgeously lush florals {look at those bouquets!}, beautiful wedding party, beachy wedding invite from MagnetStreet, all the emotions ... every detail is breathtaking.
Along with all the fabulous photos, the newlyweds graciously shared the highlights of their love story and wedding day with us. What a fun couple!
How did you find your wedding dress?
Maggie:"I thought it would be nice to take my whole wedding 'Brazilian Mafia' party, but it was challenging to say the least, to get 8 peoples to agree! I always will love the 'Brazilian Mafia' but OMG! I knew what I wanted, but my bridesmaids have different opinions, of course. So I decided to go to this one store with my maid of honor and my daughter Melissa alone. It was easy ... and in around 30 minutes or less, I found the perfect most beautiful dress we have ever seen! :)"
How did you choose MagnetStreet for your wedding invites?
Maggie: "From the save the dates to our invites. it was the site with the most options and very easy to edit, too. The site offered the must-have guest addressing for us with all the different fonts ... which we loved and that came out beautiful! Also, a double thumbs up to the customer service people who were absolutely amazing!! Kevin had to call to change times after we placed the order, and it was hassle free. We had someone personal to deal with ... and we would refer MagnetStreet as a must have to anyone getting married! MagnetStreet is amazing."
What was your something borrowed, blue, old, and new?
Maggie:"I borrowed my mother-in-law's diamond earrings My garter had blue lace and blue jewel. My old was my mother-in-law's grandmother's diamond bracelet. I had new lace white underwear from Victoria's Secret."
How did you choose your theme and colors? "We chose to have a beach theme because it's our favorite place to spend time no matter what time of the day. We chose fuchsia because it's bright and bold like our relationship ... and the color of our hearts."
Did you have a first look? Kevin: "Nope. We wanted to see each other for the first time as Maggie was walking down the aisle ... and my GOODNESS did she look perfect!"
What was the best moment of the day? "Announcing our wedding vows to one another. Expressing and listening to each other's true feelings in front of all loved ones was one of the best moment of our lives. Not to mention the kiss that sealed the deal!"
Let's rewind a bit. How did you meet?
Kevin: "It was a MATCH made in heaven... which leads us to where our story began. After 34 years of me (Kevin) trying to find a women that would make all my dreams come true, (or just deal with me), it had led me to the Match.com website trying to look for love. Close to the end of my three month subscription for Match.com, I found and messaged this sexy Brazilian, and to my pleasant surprise, I got a reply! I began speaking online to Maggie for a couple days before we decided to meet up at an old dive bar in Virginia Beach called Icehouse, where we met and fell in love at first sight. From that day of May 3rd, 2015, we knew that we had something special that would last the rest of both our lives."
And your engagement?
Maggie: "We got engaged on Mother's Day 2017 on our vacation to Punta Cana. Kevin planned everything with the hotel butler and had a dinner table set up in the middle of the pool, on an island of the resort pool ... with candlelight and roses everywhere for when we got home from our adventure of the day! Kevin got down on one knee and to my excitement, I was so surprised and said YES!!! Kevin kept everything very secretive and it was beautiful."
So, that wedding cake and fabulous desserts?!
"The wedding cake was so beautiful and beach-like. It was made by a Brazilian woman that makes authentic Brazilian cakes! It was a dulce de leche cake with three layers. It was an all-white cake with white seashells all around it. Each layer had a different flavor inside ... the bottom layer was chocolate, the second layer was strawberry, and our top layer is a special Brazilian flavor traditionally made with this type of cake! We can't wait to taste it. The other specialty desserts we had were little Brazilian desserts that were in shapes such as mini replica wedding cakes, chocolate seashells filled with brigadeiro, (a Brazilian fudge), and about five other designs and fillings! It was amazing! Nothing was leftover on the dessert table! Everyone fell in love with them."
Any last-minute probs pop up on your wedding day?
Kevin: "Well yes unfortunately two things. Which actually both worked out! First, the cake started melting because we had a daytime wedding in the middle of the summer! So we had the cake cutting happened right after our dinner got served which was right after our BIG entrance. It actually worked out better 'cause people didn't have to wait for dessert. Second, I planned a special speech to give my beautiful new daughter, Melissa. a diamond necklace as a token of becoming part of my life and family ... like how I gave her mom Maggie a ring! Well, my brother forgot the necklace at the hotel which was 30 minutes away. We realized this as the party started, so our wedding planner sent her helper back to our hotel to retrieve it and came back five minutes before the speeches! Truly amazing work from our wedding planner!"
Any advice for couples planning their wedding?
"Enjoy each and every moment. Start early in the planning process so you don't get overwhelmed at the end. Download wedding apps. They are necessary. And most importantly, hire a wedding planner. It's their job and expertise to help you throughout the wedding planning and anything during the wedding day!"
