And what better place for them to hold their engagement photo shoot, than the very golf course where they got engaged? So check out their proposal {and be ready for the waterworks}, their engagement pics from ultra-talented photographer Molly Jo Collection, and their fabulous MagnetStreet Save the Date! {Plus, Ashley shares a few tips for fellow couples in the midst of wedding planning fun!}
The golf course proposal
"Josh proposed to me on the 9th hole at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms in Sheboygan Falls, WI on May 8, 2015. He planned for our families to be standing on the balcony, overlooking the whole thing ... and I was completely clueless! At the course, they have GPS tracking on the golf carts. As we were finishing hole # 8, Josh’s dad put the ring box in the hole on #9. When we got to the green on hole #9, I was set up for a 10-ft. putt or so, which I ended missing by just a few inches ..."

"Having our loved ones there to share in the most unforgettable moment of my life was extremely special, and meant the world to me. Josh even had a local videographer, Double Vision Films, capture the whole thing. Josh did an amazing job in planning our perfect proposal ... and of course, I said YES!"
Ah yes, a bit of your history! How'd you you meet?
"Josh’s dad used to work with my dad about 10 years ago; they had worked together for over 15 years. Funny enough, my dad actually bought a moped from Josh prior to him and me officially meeting. Josh and I were officially introduced about three years ago through a mutual friend. He ended up coming out for a drink after work and met up with a small group of us who were out watching a Packers vs. Bears football game at a local restaurant."
Chalk it up to Love Save the Date | MagnetStreet Weddings
"I like that the design allowed me to select colors that tie within our overall color scheme. The guys will be in navy blue suits and the girls will be in long champagne colored bridesmaid dresses. I liked that I was able to customize it in any way ... from changing fonts and text sizes to selecting multiple colors. Also, I really liked that they provided suggestions on what information to place where. It’s simple, yet elegant at the same time."
A few bits of advice from Ashley for other couples planning their wedding ...
"Choose a photographer who is really easy to get along with and schedule an engagement shoot so you can get to know one another before the big day. We were extremely fortunate to have Molly Jo Collection take our engagement photos. Molly is an upbeat, adventurous, fun person who loves what she does. I could tell right away in our email communications that we’d get along great! She made us feel super comfortable in front of the camera."
"Another piece of advice I’d give is to think about having the groomsmen purchase suits versus renting a tux. We watched for upcoming sales at local department stores and ended up saving our groomsmen quite a bit of money by going this route. We waited until a Friends and Family sale and purchased them all at the same time."
"Lastly, I'd recommend taking the time to create a wedding website. There are a lot of great sites out there and many of them are free! It's a great place to send people to keep them informed of the wedding weekend. It's also a great way for people to read about how you met, the proposal story, share pictures, and who's in the wedding. It's also a great way to provide guests with details ... such as fun things to do in the area, recommended hotels in the area, and places you're registered at."
How was your experience with MagnetStreet?
"My experience with MagnetStreet was amazing. I thought the website was extremely user friendly and it was easy to customize the Save the Dates using the personalization tool. One of the main draws was how many great reviews they received as well as how reasonably priced they were. Also, I found a coupon code on their Facebook page which allowed for even more savings! I was very impressed when the magnets arrived. They came in a magnetic box and were neatly packed so that they wouldn’t get damaged during shipping. I was extremely pleased with how they turned out. I even went back to their Facebook page and wrote a review to let others know how happy I was working with MagnetStreet!"
Congrats to the beautiful couple, Ashley and Josh! Thanks for sharing your story with us, and best wishes as you make the final preparations for your big day in a couple months! xo
