We are so loving this elegant moody fall wedding shoot! It's different, features a dark palette of fall hues, and is super trendy. And of all places ... the session was shot in a rustic lodge in stunning Talkeetna, Alaska.
Former Miss Alaska and her ski racer husband modeled for this moody fall wedding session at a new venue in the area, and their photographer did an amazing job of catching the gorgeous couple in the mysterious rustic setting!
So what's the formula for a moody fall wedding shoot? Obviously you can see by this ahh-mazing shoot that it doesn't mean you have to sacrifice elegance. And it certainly doesn't have to emanate Halloween cheesiness. Here are just a few ways to keep your wedding elegant and marvelously moody.
- Let the whimsical woods be your gorgeous, mysterious backdrop.
- Keep the lighting to a minimum. Low ambient light is moody and evocative!
- For floral arrangements, focus on deep burgundy wine tones, purples, and rich greens. Black roses, burgundy dahlias, dark wine anemones, purple ranunculus, hellebores, clematis, and eucalyptus springs are perfect choices!
- It's fall after all, so stick with marsala, burnt orange, deep reds, chocolate, and navy blue for your color palette.
- Go eclectic with your appetizers and dinner menu ... an olive bar, caprese salad on a stick, roasted duck {you get the delicious picture}!
- Let the photography speak volumes of your story and emotions! Try to avoid stiff, posed shots.
Thanks to the talented participants of this stunning moody fall wedding session!
