a Minnesota real wedding. Enjoy as Anna shares details about their big day & savvy planning advice.
Best Part About My Wedding... I got married to a wonderful man who is my best friend
Wedding Location Roseville Covenant Church "I grew up in this church and my parents still attend. I knew I would always get married there."
Photo Location Melodee Stables, White Bear Lake, MN "I wanted pictures with horses and a white picket fence. I found this place, called and asked and they were more then willing to let us be on their property to get some priceless pictures."
Reception Location Oak Glen Golf Course, Stillwater, MN "One visit to this place and we knew it was the right one. The food was fabulous!"
Highlights
- Walking down the aisle with my Dad (one of the top 5 coolest things I've done in my life)
- Paul and I wrote our own vows. I loved it!
- My flowers were absolutely beautiful. I ended up preserving my bouquet.
- We did a surprise wedding dance at the reception {check out their YouTube video here.}
My grandpa "Papa Toots" couldn't travel from New York for our wedding in MN. In honor of him, I had a candy buffet and one of the candies was Tootsie Rolls because those are his favorite.
Our guest book was a photo book & included most of our engagement pictures. We thought it would be more fun to have that sitting on the coffee table in 20 years than just names.
Paul was a little messy when feeding me my piece of cake. This is him trying to get some of it off. {This is one of my husband's favorite shots from the day}.
Anna's planning advice... "I got engaged in April and married in September. You CAN planning a wedding in under 5 months. No problem!"
- Use The Knot to help you stay on track of what needs to be done when. This was my life saver.
- Write everything down in 1 notebook and keep it with you 24/7
- Just pick one! Stressing over a bunch of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses or food is not worth it. Look at a few and make your choice.
- If there are small details you REALLY want, make it happen. You get one day, just make sure to plan ahead.
- Put together an itinerary for your wedding party, photographers, florist, videographer, reception site, host couples, everyone/anyone that has a specific assignment. This way they are aware of their expectations for the big day.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing your sweet details & advice with us Anna!
We wish much Love & Happiness to You and Paul!
