The other day we were watching a news segment whereby a financial adviser was answering a question from a young couple who were getting married but had BOTH recently gotten laid off! "Should they postpone their wedding"?
I responded with YES. Thinking practically... why go into the marriage stressed out about money and no jobs?
My husband responded with NO! Thinking romantically... Why would they postpone? For better or for worse.
So, with tail between my legs I limped away, wondering where my romantic bone had been thrown.
And then I remembered the economy! Now, I'm still a romantic~ just a little more practical these days and while I don't claim to know whether or not this couple should postpone their wedding, I will encourage you to do all you can to stick to your budget. Avoid the temptation of overspending. It's just smart~ in good times and in rough economic times!
I know what it's like to overspend and then rationalize it. Even if your going over budget by just a few dollars~ those few dollars add up quickly. And, what happens when you really really want that extra special something? Will you be too over-extended to get it?
So, how's your budget coming along?
