We were definitely inspired by the beautiful blues and pinks in this couple's outdoors engagement shoot. So besides adding these colors to your engagement shoot ... how can this combo come into play for the big day?
- Why this color combo works: The serene blue adds a cool regal touch, while gentle pink conveys compassion. Add a bit of magenta and steel gray to tone it all down ... and it's perfection!
- Photo opps: Think gorgeous couples photos during dusk, when the sky is slowly becoming a darker, deeper shade of blue. While it's not a tangible wedding accessory, it doesn't mean you can't use the sky or other scenery as part of your overall wedding day color scheme!
- Flowers: Big blooms in shades of pink, such as peonies, dahlias and ranunculuses arranged tightly and accented by muted ivory roses and peonies. Or blue hydrangeas with pink peonies would be gorgeous!
- Stationery tips: Share your love of blue across your invites and programs! Illustrations are a hot look for stationery and regal blue with a bit of pink is a sweet addition for your fall palette.
- It's elegant: Chic and regal, dark blue has always been very classic. The best part is that it can really be combined with mostly any color ... including modern pink, of course.
- But, it can also be casual: Dark blue with pink is kind of like black with pink ... but more casual. This combo is great for nautical-themed weddings, with bright pink playing perfectly off the dark blue.
- Eats: Think fun blue or pink treats like cotton candy, frosted donuts, or tasty cupcakes! Or dare I say ... martinis or other signature cocktails in blue or pink hues?
