Jessica and Joe are college sweethearts and alum of Rutgers University. Their love story is super sweet! They met each other as undergrads while putting in hours at their on-campus jobs ... and the rest is history. It only made sense to have their engagement session at the very spot where they met all those years ago. This is such a unique and meaningful campus engagement session!
Rutgers University provided plenty of fantastic outdoor scenery for their shoot, but we especially love the nostalgia of their cozy shots in the office where they first met. Check out their campus engagement session from the talented photographers at Jac & Jules Photography and their fabulous personalized Save the Date Magnet. We wish Jessica and Joe the happiest of times as they start their married life together!
How They Met
"Joe and I met while in college at Rutgers University. Being a year and a half apart and at a large University, we likely would not have met had we not decided to work for the same on-campus job; Campus Information Services, also known as RU-Info. Joe is a little over a year and a half younger than me and therefore I was a Supervisor of his when we met. Our friendship flourished and eventually turned into a secret office romance. We've been in love ever since."
"Joe and I decided that we had to go back to the place where we met to take our first set of engagement pictures, at RU-Info. We were even interviewed that day by the RU-TV staff when they heard about our love story. We then moved to a second location on the Olde Queens section of the Rutgers University College Avenue Campus. This area has a ton of historic buildings and the landscaping was beautiful. It was a warm August afternoon, but we had so much fun with our photographers, Jac N Jules, who made the entire session easy and enjoyable. We laughed the entire time!"
Popping the Question
"Joe, being an engineer, designed the most special proposal in our home. He drew out a pathway of rose petals, tons of tea light candles, and a giant red petal heart at the end of our living room. With the help of our close friends, Joe's plan worked out perfectly. We had a lovely dinner out at a local restaurant and upon returning to our home, Joe ran into the front door saying that he had to use the bathroom. I slowly followed him as I had our leftovers and a big puffy jacket to maneuver. When I walked into the front door, I gasped and instantly broke out in tears when I saw Joe standing in that larger rose petal heart, saw the candles, and heard 'Marry Me' by Train on our sound system. It was perfect."
Upcoming Wedding Details
"Our wedding will be at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ which has a romantic and old feel. It is quaint but has plenty of space for our 150+ person wedding. Our colors are wine red, cremes, and white with greenery. Simple, but classic."
