Texas couple, Robyn and Brandon, met at her sister's engagement and they hit it off right away. They made their long distance relationship work as Brandon made frequent trips to see Robyn in Waco—so it's only fitting that some time later, Brandon brought Robyn back to Waco and asked her to marry him! Fast forward to the present ... and to their stunning lavender and gray wedding in Austin.
The Dallas-based duo opted to hold their wedding at the beautiful Villa St. Clair, which is situated on a hilltop among majestic oaks in Austin. With a gorgeous stained glass ballroom, an outdoor European-style garden area, awesome views, and beautiful silver, and a palette of lavender and gray wedding decor ... their day is simply breathtaking!
You'll definitely swoon all the fabulous details from their day captured by Addison Studios Photography, including their super pretty personalized wedding invitation from MagnetStreet Weddings. {And of course, we love hearing some of the details from the gorgeous bride, herself.}
On choosing the Secret Garden invite from MagnetStreet Weddings
The unique designs and ability to personalize everything, including the colors. I created about five or six invitations before making a final decision!
Something borrowed: My borrowed was also my old because of the significance! My veil was the veil my mom wore on her wedding day (in 1980). My great-grandmother actually made it in 1958 for my grandmother. It has been 'borrowed' by both of my older sisters on their wedding days as well!
Something blue: The little gems on my garters
Something old: See "borrowed" :)
Something new: My jewelry & shoes.
A perfect first look
We wanted to have that private moment together before all the fun, visiting, and dancing with friends and family. Also, to be honest, we figured it wouldn't hurt to get a bunch of wedding party photos out of the way and have more time at the reception with all of our guests! We are SO glad we decided to do a first look because the night was over before we knew it. We were so busy with photos, cake cutting, dancing, etc. that we rarely had a moment to just stop and look at each other and be in that moment. (Plus Brandon's reaction was unforgettable.)
When they first met
Our story began when we were in the same wedding party. My oldest sister was marrying Brandon's college friend/roommate, but we didn't actually meet until months later at my other sister's engagement party in Dallas. Brandon was in town visiting my brother-in-law and was able to join in the festivities. We hit it off right away and it didn't take long after that for the two of us to fall in love. Brandon lived in Houston while I was in Waco, leaving us about 3 hours apart. Brandon would travel to Waco to see me 2-3 times a week, even if that meant we only had a couple of hours together.
Proposal in Waco
So naturally, Waco has a special place in our hearts ... and it's why Brandon chose to propose there! We were driving from Dallas to Austin to see my family and Brandon took us on a detour in Waco, to a park where my brother-in-law had previously stashed a picnic basket for us in the trees! Brandon got down on one knee in the city we fell in love and proposed. Needless to say, he caught me way off guard and my response was 'are you serious!' three times before saying yes. Eventually, we both ended up with new jobs in Dallas, where we now live happily as newlyweds.
Advice from the bride
There are so many details in planning a wedding that we focus on as brides. I wanted the entire day to go perfectly and be the exact image I had in my mind. When the day came, I didn't have time to focus on those tiny details! The day went perfectly in my mind and I got to marry the man of my dreams. So, my one piece of advice to all brides is when that day comes, don't worry about how many flowers are in your bouquet or that you got tongue twisted repeating your vows (I did!), just let it go and enjoy every second of the day because before you know it, you'll be popping champagne with your husband in a limo after the most incredible day of your lives.
