Gorgeous Minnesota couple, Julie and Andrew, kind of met at St. Cloud State University at some point during their freshman year. Neither of them remember the details, and years went by before they'd see each other again. Fast forward to a week before they graduated, and they ran into each other at a local bar and started texting ... and eventually began dating. Now we have their fabulous urbanesque Minneapolis wedding photos by Karen Feder Photography and thoughts from the bride to share with you!
Julie and Andrew's Elegant Minneapolis Wedding
Location: St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral, Minneapolis & Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, Brooklyn Park Theme: Classic and elegant Colors: Gray/silver and white Something borrowed, blue, old, and new Borrowed: Her mother's earrings Blue: Mother-in-law's blue necklace Old: Her mom’s purse that she had used in her wedding New: Dress and shoes Searching for the Dress "I went to the first place… kind of with an idea of what I was looking for… Tried on everything. Ball gowns, mermaid, fit and flare, etc. There was one that I had tried on that weighed about 75 pounds! I was exhausted just walking back to the dressing room, so I didn’t know how I was going to do it for an entire day- but it was BEAUTIFUL! The ball gown just wasn’t what I was looking for. I tried one on that if I ever become Miss Universe, I will buy it! A few of them felt like prom gowns or dance costumes. I didn’t leave disappointed, but I left knowing what I did not want in a dress. I had an appointment set at Posh ... When we got there, I told the lady exactly what I didn’t want… because I still really didn’t know what I wanted. She pulled out 3. The first one I put on, I just knew it was the one! It was solid lace … no beading (which I thought I had wanted tons of rhinestones and sparkle) and was just perfect. It was so lightweight, and highlighted my body perfect. I walked out a VERY happy camper!" The lovely couple invited guests to their classic, elegant Minneapolis wedding celebration with a stunning Vision of Love wedding invite from MagnetStreet. "I actually first met with a lady who I originally wanted to have make them. I wanted something very basic, and got the point across. She had a different vision. So we scrapped that idea and started over. When my friend had recommended checking out your website, I started playing around with things, and I knew it was exactly what I wanted. It was simple, but got the point across. I also loved how easy it was to connect with help, if needed. I also loved how the envelopes came printed! When you get the invites, they are adorably wrapped. It makes such a simple thing, that much more exciting!" The Proposal A few months into dating, Julie and Andrew headed up to the North Shore of Minnesota to celebrate Julie's birthday. Cove Point Lodge hosted the couple, where they made fun memories as a new couple. Four years later, they returned to the beloved lodge for a quick getaway vacation ... and Andrew popped the question! "We got back to our resort and decided that it would be fun to go out onto the point 'Cove Point' before we showered and got ready for dinner. It was about a 5-7 minute walk out there. There was no direct route, walking over tree branches and rocks. We got out there and it was beautiful! It was fun to see everything from that view. Well after about 30 seconds, I got cold (and was tired ... it had been a LONG day, already) so I started back to shore. Halfway back, there was a sandy area, and I tripped over a rock and lost my shoe. (I later found out Andrew had tripped me, as I was walking too fast.) Once we got back on land, Andrew got down on his knee, and popped the question. It could not have been more perfect!" Highlight of the Day "Besides getting married ;) Honestly, dancing, and singing the night away with my friends and family! It was so awesome to have all the people you love and care about in one location! We had a blast! I will say, I do feel awful that I didn’t get a chance to talk to everyone, but we had so much fun on the dance floor." Favorite Photos of the Day "My personal attendants were as important to me as my bridesmaids, so I loved that they were able to be in all of our pictures with us! We went to Fulton and got a few beers, and took some pictures there. Those all turned out super well as well ... so many fun memories!" Advice from the Bride "Enjoy it!! Everyone says it goes by so fast, and it truly does! Try to make it appoint to talk to people. I didn’t, and I wish I would have more. I briefly remember seeing people there as I was running to the bathroom, and now I am thinking back … why didn’t I stop and say hi at that time! Don’t stress the small stuff!"
