I love this wedding shot by the fun and talented Isabel March of Isabel March Photography. And, because Isabel is the aunt of the bride, we have insider information on all the exquisite details! Details that are inspired and bring a tear to my eye because they are born out of love and tradition. The passing down of heirlooms and customs that connect families, bridge generations and bring loved ones to remembrance! Beatiful and inspiring! Take it away Isabel...
"Elizabeth and Jose were married at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida~ on their 5th anniversary of knowing each other. Details and family heirlooms were especially significant in Jose and Elizabeth's wedding. And, aside from having close family and friends in attendance, having all of the special details brought our families even closer. A TON of details went into their wedding.
During the ceremony Jose {who was convinced he wouldn't get emotional} was the first to get choked up. Elizabeth handed him a handkerchief that she had tucked into her dress that was hand crocheted by her great grandmother {my grandmother}. The mantilla veil that Elizabeth wore for some of her portraits, was also worn by her mother during her wedding pictures and by her grandmother. The necklace that Elizabeth wore has been passed down from generation to generation by her grandmother {my mother}. The first daughter in each generation to get married gets to keep the necklace however, has to loan it to the other ladies of the family to wear on their wedding day. The rosary attached to her bouquet was carried by Elizabeth's eldest aunt {my sister} on her first communion.
{The cake was simply divine so I had to share it!}
Details of the reception... All of the damask table runners were made by Jose's mother. The menu cards, place cards, table numbers {there was a picture from their e-session on the front and the table number on the back}, picture favors for each guest and guest sign in book that contained their engagement pictures, were gifted to them by me!
Attached to the bouquet was a locket that held a picture of both of Elizabeth's grandmothers who although are passed, were definitely present."
Thanks so much Isabel! I can imagine all the storytelling and the sharing of memories that went on all night. What a wonderful wedding. Check out the rest of the images in hi-res and more detail from Elizabeth's and Jose's wedding on Isabel's blog.
Congratulations to Elizabeth and Jose! We wish you much joy and blessings!
