Joy! Joy! Joy! It's written all over Seth and Ellie's faces and threaded throughout their lovely winter wedding. From Ellie's beautiful, Art Nouveau-esque wedding look, to their impeccable florals, sparkly shoes and argyle socks, to all the meaningful details--this wedding makes us smile! Grab a cup of tea and enjoy this sweet wedding that includes some pretty sound wisdom from the bride. Enjoy! Wedding Colors: Navy Blue, Sage Green, Blush Pink, & Silver Ceremony: Risen Savior Catholic Church, Brandon, SD Reception: Holiday Inn City Centre, Sioux Falls, SD Photographer: AC Ellis Weddings Wedding Stationery: MagnetStreet Weddings What was the best part of the whole wedding day? The best part of the day was right after the ceremony, when we drove ourselves to the reception hall (with a stop at the local Juice Stop and Falls Park!). It was wonderful to spend some alone time with each other as husband and wife and get to take in the huge life event that we had just taken part in. Dress Swoon My dress was by Mori Lee, Style 1822. It felt so elegant with the beading and buttons, and the satin and ruching made the dress really comfortable to wear all day. I wore Fergalicious Utopia shoes in Pewter Glitter. Who can say no to glitter? (I certainly couldn't!) Something that I loved--is that I got to wear the earrings and necklace that my mother wore at her wedding, along with my grandmother's pearls. First Look! What advice are you glad you took? We felt especially blessed by how much our families and friends wanted to help. We got the advice to let people help, because even though it may not be "picture perfect", what they do will be full of love, and that makes it perfect. We cannot agree more. If you let control go of things, the people who love you will take and run with it, and you will be so surprised with what they do! What advice do you wish you had taken? I wish that I had broken in my shoes like I was told! I had a different pair, but the glitter shoes called my name--two days before we got married! But in the grand scheme of things, we wish that we would have enjoyed our engagement more, instead of stressing about the wedding. A few details that we loved ... The boys had bright argyle socks and got a kick out of showing them off! We had a Jenga guestbook for our love of games. At our reception, we had a spot for photos of our grandparents who were unable to be with us. Lastly, my mother made our wedding cake and did a phenomenal job. Favorite Highlights One of the highlights was when our priest, Father Terry, read what we had written about each other. We had no idea that he was going to read them verbatim and it was very touching to hear what the other person had written. We had decided to exchange notes with each other instead of getting each other gifts and Seth and I both referenced How I Met Your Mother in how our marriage was going to be "Legen-wait for it…Dary!" What advice would you like to give? What you will remember from your wedding day will not be how the tables looked, or how you had to use reindeer stamps, or any of the other material things. You are going to remember how your loved one squeezed your hands as you were reciting your vows ... or how it was so wonderful to meet your cousin George after 20 years ... or how much joy there was in dancing to Gangnam Style about a bazillion times ... or going to the bar down the street afterwards and just hanging out with your brand-spanking-new spouse and friends and family and just feeling the love from everyone all day long. So, don't stress about the details. Plan things out as best as you can, but it's okay if something falls through the cracks. Odds are, six months down the line, you're not going to remember that detail, but all the memories that you and your loved ones made that day. Congratulations Ellie & Seth! Thank you for sharing your lovely wedding with us! Shout Outs Florist Flower Mill We absolutely loved working with our florist, Stacy Schaap. Our florals were absolutely gorgeous and Stacy did such an amazing job of bringing our vision to life! DJ Sieff Style Adam jumped right in and helped get our party going. Once the dance started, we were on our feet until the very end! He really personalized the music to us and our family and friends. Dress Consultant Elegant Expressions Boutique Missy and the other ladies at Elegant Expressions were so helpful when I was choosing a wedding gown. I felt like I was with friends helping me choose a gown, rather than sales people. They were all so sweet! Photographer AC Ellis Weddings Thank you for capturing the fun and excitement of our day! It was like you were a member of our wedding party with how seamlessly you joined us and we LOVED our photos! Reception Venue Holiday Inn City Centre Chris Polkinghorn and the staff at the Holiday Inn City Centre did an amazing job of pulling off our reception. The food was delicious and the whole day was stress free working with them. Father Terry and the staff at Risen Savior Church Father Terry and the rest of the staff at Risen Savior Church helped us celebrate our union in a very special way. We appreciated how inclusive they were and how comfortable they made us feel. Wedding Thank You Cards MagnetStreet Weddings We had actually done save the dates and our invites elsewhere and I wish that we had found MagnetStreet earlier. The quality and presentation is gorgeous and there are so many designs to choose from. We had been searching for the perfect Thank You cards and hadn't had much luck finding something that fit our wedding as well as let us use a photo and personalize. It was extremely easy to use the words that we wanted and we even could adjust elements of the thank you card on our own which was really cool. About Vintage Banner, Thank You Card design We chose the Vintage Banner design because it was classy, had photos and fit with our soft feel to our wedding. It was very well designed and we both appreciate something that pays attention to the little details. It allowed us to showcase one of our favorite photos from the wedding and not look cheesy.
