Idyllwild is nestled in the San Jacinto mountains and provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The peaceful small community is surrounded by towering pines, fantastic rock formations, and breathtaking scenic views. In summary—a perfect spot for a surprise proposal and impromptu engagement session!
Allen's sister and photographer, Kathleen, caught the magical moment after a lot of crafty planning. Enjoy the story of how the surprise came to be and their stunning surprise mountaintop proposal and engagement shoot!
Karlie had been dying for an Idyllwild weekend getaway with Allen for months! They finally scheduled a weekend and rented a cabin.
Allen worked with Karlie's friends to join them on the weekend getaway, so she wouldn't suspect that a proposal may take place. As a professional golfer, Allen said he to attend a golf event and would meet up with them later ... but really he needed to do some secret maneuvering the final proposal spot.
The three friends headed up to Idyllwild for lunch. Allen, Kathleen (sister/photographer), and her photographer husband headed up to the proposal spot.
Once lunch was over, Karlie and her friends made their way to scope out some scenery. When Karlie arrived, Allen was waiting for her at the bottom of the hill atop a rock with the most stunning view.
She ran to him, knowing what was happening. He got down on a knee and proposed, but that was just the start of the surprises!
Kathleen brought a few outfits with for Karlie to change into for the impromptu engagement shoot that followed the surprise {great idea}!
Allen kept the surprises going the rest of the day with a surprise visit by Karlie's sister, then a surprise dinner with the rest of their families and close friends. This guy gets an A in our book!
