Kicking off national Armed Forces Week, today's inspiration is in honor of Armed Forces Day--a day set apart to acknowledge Americans in the armed forces. The theme for this year is “Honor Those Who Answered the Call to Serve” and honors those serving in the United States Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy.

Tips & Ideas For Planning A Military Themed Wedding
Seek out discounts: you’d be surprised by all the discounts from vendors who are willing to give our service men and women (active or not).
Consider purchasing wedding insurance: military life can be unpredictable so having insurance on your major expenses will keep you protected from losing your deposits due to wedding date changes.
Getting married on base is typically less expensive: except for a small donation to the chapel, chaplains perform ceremonies free of charge.
Some restrictions to keep in mind: Rules and regulations do vary between the branches and religions. Talk with the chaplain to get permissions regarding flowers, music, photography, and attire.
Ceremonial attire: Military members in the wedding party usually wear ceremonial dress. The color of the uniform depends on the season—blue in winter and white in summer. Commissioned (Army or Marine Corps.) officers can leave the ceremony under an Arch of Sabers or (Navy and Coast Guard) can exit under an Arch of Swords. Non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel can leave under an Arch of Rifles.
