Being ever curious, I asked Anna about the setting, her style and the vision they have for their September destination, South Carolina, rustic-barn wedding. Here's Anna {also a photographer & graphic designer} to tell us ...
I grew up in the country and have always loved horses. I guess you could say that my style is modern country. I live in the city now {in Florida} but I picked Lindsey Plantation this South Carolina venue, because it had the kind of a barn I wanted: the rustic wood kind. And, the nature around this barn is breathtaking. We don’t have all the mountains and fields here in Florida. Plus, it’s still hot here in September, but should cool down in South Carolina for our outside ceremony.
I really wanted the horse in the pictures and the long grasses. I brought the props, peaches and a couple of different outfits. I had to have my boots in the pictures because I love boots and I think they go with everything! The weather was a little warm but the lighting was perfect. It started drizzling a little in the middle of the shoot but that didn’t stop us and although my curls came out, I didn’t care—I like the natural look.
about Anna & Valik's wedding style
I love a rustic, vintage, organic look. I love going to thrift stores and finding old things that can be used as a prop or a decoration—an old typewriter for example. I'm a bargain shopper too. At the wedding we’ll have burlap table runners and picnic tables, yet classy wine glasses with pretty picture frames. I’ll be buying all my wine glasses and ball jars for centerpieces at thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales.
