Ashley & Josh's Elegant Golf Course Wedding
We featured this gorgeous couple's golf course engagement session and proposal video, and their luxe Save the Date design last summer. Ashley and Josh held their elegant golf course wedding this past fall at the same venue —and we are super excited to share their big day details with lots of marvelous photos. We'll let their gorgeous photos tell their wedding day story, along with Ashley's highlights of the day {in her own words}! They opted to simply enhance their venue’s stunning backdrop for their elegant golf course wedding, using soft ivory flowers and hints of metallics and rustic accents. Their wedding invite design from MagnetStreet was a perfect match for the incredible location, and their photos by Molly Jo Collection are proof! Theme/colors: Elegant/navy blue/champagne Ceremony: Irish Barn at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, WI Reception: The Bull at Pinehurst Farms in Sheboygan Falls, WI With their elegant wedding theme and a palette of navy blue and light champagne, they found their perfect pieces to match in the timeless Vision of Love design suite—including Save the Dates, Pocket Invites and Thank Yous. "When we got our Save the Date magnets from MagnetStreet, they sent along a wedding booklet that contained sample invites. We instantly fell in love with the pocket invite design. We ended up choosing the Vision of Love style, because it looked very elegant and incorporated a picture. We were able to incorporate our colors of navy and champagne and easily select the inserts and envelope color. We even requested a sample which arrived quickly just to make sure we knew what we’d be getting. We were very happy with how our invites turned out, and we got a lot of compliments on them!" "I went shopping with my mom, sister, and my now mother-in-law (for the dress). We pulled about 5 from the racks for me to try on. The one I ended up purchasing was the first one I tried on. Initially, I wasn’t sure if it was the one, but my family immediately knew and the moms started crying right away. I assumed it was because it was the first one I tried so I wanted to try more on. Every time I tried on a new dress, I kept going back to the first one. Finally when I got through them all, I realized it was in fact the one and it couldn’t have been more perfect!" "I only got 3 hours of sleep because I was so excited that the day was finally here!" "We decided not to do a first look. Josh was adamant that we shouldn’t see each other until I walked down the aisle. Looking back, I’m very happy with the decision we made. The morning was so busy with getting ready, taking pictures and hanging out with our friends that I’m not sure if it would’ve been as special as it was during our ceremony. It was well worth the wait!" "My favorite part was seeing Josh the first time as I walked with my father down the aisle; he looked so incredibly handsome (even though he does every day). But he just looked so incredibly happy, and I couldn’t wait to call him my husband!" "My Dad wrote the music and lyrics to a wedding song when I was younger. Everyone who knows me, knows that music and especially singing is something I’m extremely passionate about. My Dad and I recorded the song together and it played during the sand ceremony at the wedding ... which none of our guests, not even Josh, knew about." "We did not write our own vows but our pastor made the service very personal." "All week we were worried about the weather. And when the day arrived, it was absolutely beautiful!" "We went with a tiered wedding cake from a small business in our area that is very popular. We had two flavors: vanilla cake with raspberry and cheesecake cream fillings, and the other flavor was a milk chocolate cake with crushed chocolate and Oreo crème fillings. The cake was ivory with hints of gold and featured a ‘P’ at the top." "Another surprise was that I recorded a cover of the song 'Daddy Dance with Me' by Krystal Keith ... and that was the song that was playing during the Father Daughter dance." "Our first dance was to 'Never Stop' (the wedding version) by Safety Suit. If you haven’t heard it before, I would definitely encourage you to listen to it on YouTube or Google the lyrics!" "I think we’re both looking forward to just living our life together each day. We want to start a family relatively soon so now we’re just enjoying our time as a married couple. We are definitely glad the wedding planning has come to an end, although I wish we could relive that day over and over again (…which thankfully we can when we get our video back from the wedding!)"
