Remember... Many vendors offer discounted rates for weddings held on a Friday, Sunday, afternoon, etc. or in less popular months.
About Your Venues...Cancellation & refund policy should be in writing before you put down a deposit. Ask officiant or coordinator about any limitations regarding writing your own vows, using your own decorations, time constraints before or after your ceremony or reception.
About Your Vendors... Before you sign a contract, read the fine print to make sure all fees, dates, times, services, location, liabilities, cancellation and refund policies, overtime fees, restrictions, etc. are included.

Request an itemization of all costs.

Will the Caterer feed your DJ, photographer, videographer for a reduced cost? Do they provide linens, decorations, etc.?

Ask the Photographer about packages, proofing and ordering process, inclusions, costs, additional print costs, hours of availability, overages...

The Videographer's contract should include: additional copy fees, special effects, background music, type of editing done, time frames, type of equipment being used, times, etc.

DJ/Band contract should include: number of breaks needed, time playing. Provide them "play" and "do not" play lists.

Wedding Dress contract should state itemization of purchases, manufacturer, alteration and any hidden fees, guaranteed delivery date. Inquire about discounts if you order all the attendants dresses with this vendor.

Stationer Ask about overall time frame for ordering, proofing and delivery. Know the cancellation policy. Any additional fees?

Wedding Cake Contract should also state the ingredients and flavors being used.

Florist Contract should include delivery times and rates, itemization of costs, refund and cancellation policies and specialty services ie. flowers for the cake, decorating venues.

Online orders Check packages received immediately to determine that what you ordered, is what you received.

Car/Limo Contract should include specific car, name of driver, fees, times, tipping, other inclusions, overage fees. Determine if they should have a map to your venues, etc.
Don't hesitate to ask for clarification if there is something in the contract or within their scope that you don't understand.
