Our reception was held here in the upper level of the Village Hall, a beautiful old building, built in 1888. Complete with creaking wood floors and high ceilings, the Village Hall was a magnificent place to have our reception! {To this day, my husband stills says it was the best party he's ever been to} It was simply interesting and our guests loved it.
Reminiscent of a bygone era, being inside an historical building always has this uncanny way of inspiring and inducing a sense of intrigue in me. I just want to go snooping around to see what treasures I can find. The following images are from the James J. Hill Reference Library in downtown St. Paul {constructed 1921}. The absolutely gorgeous reading room is rented out for weddings.
What historical buildings in your area do you think would make a fabulous reception spot? Along with the town hall, museum, restaurant, hotel~ think out of the box too! Envision just the right building that not only speaks to your style but also a place where your guests could get lost in the ambiance... that you probably won't have to work very hard at embellishing!

Since high school when was the last time you really had FUN inside a library?
