I'm enamored with Damon & Sue's engagement photos. They are just so beautiful! Really. Beautiful. I'm pretty sure the day was sent from heaven--just for them. With the park all to themselves, Damon & Sue were surrounded by the natural beauty of the forest and a cascading sky. Love captured.

Why did you chose Halibut State Park for your e-session location? "We chose Halibut State Park because that's where Damon popped the question. He proposed on July 1st of this year. We lucked out because that spot can get very busy, but because it was a Friday afternoon we were the only ones there when he asked.
Damon's proposal There was so much I loved about the day we got engaged. Damon had been making a lot of comments leading up to us arriving at Halibut State Park and my wheels were really turning--wondering if he was going to propose. I was excited, nervous, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. When we got there he pulled out a bottle of champagne and I knew something was up--I told him my heart was pounding. After I told him that, he said "well, I have something else that will make your heart pound!" and he pulled out the ring.
I think what I love the most is that after I said "Yes" he said, "Nothing has ever felt so right." And he also made me say "Yes" 3 times--which I thought was cute. We hung out at the state park for a while and then had dinner at "My Place By the Sea" also in Rockport. We sat right on the water and watched the sunset.
About photographer Dan Doke & their engagement session ...
Our engagement session was a blast and working with Dan Doke was a fantastic experience for both of us. He's very personable, funny and a lot of our smiles in our pictures are very real because he made us laugh and be silly with each other the entire time. Damon and I also really loved and appreciated that several times during our session, Dan got very excited about certain pictures and he'd say, "Oh WOW! This is a great shot ... you guys need to come check it out!" He asked us a few times what we were looking for, closeups, portraits etc. He really wanted to make sure we were happy with what he was doing. We love that he's fully passionate about his job and that he cares about what his clients want. After our engagement session and seeing our pictures, we feel completely confident that choosing Dan is perfect wedding photographer for us.
What are you most looking forward to on wedding day? There is a lot I'm looking forward to. We're getting married at Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown, NH and our ceremony will take place by their gazebo that overlooks the vineyard (weather permitting). The inside is very rustic with all hardwood floors and beams. It's beautiful and very fitting for our style and taste.We've already done a lot of planning and I'm excited to see how our day unfolds and comes together. I cannot WAIT to wear my wedding gown (a Maggie Sottero) and be in the limelight, I cannot wait to be standing in front of Damon saying "I do" and most importantly I cannot wait to finally be able to call him my husband. He is truly the one man who encourages and supports me through anything, complements me, challenges me, makes me want to be a better person--and above all, loves me for who exactly who I am! I've never met anyone like him and I feel lucky everyday to have him in my life."
