This edition of our designs YOUR WAY comes by way of our good friend...

{a tale of one woman's quest to win a giveaway & decide on a Save the Date to call their own}

"It's funny how much your taste can change in a short period of time. When I first got engaged, one of the first things I thought about was my Save The Dates (STD's).  I knew from that very moment that if nothing else, it would be magnetic (Read my first post about STD's here). Why? Well... firstly, I collect magnets... I love love love magnets (Read my second post about STD's here). Secondly, the STD's that i can leave on my magnetic board are the ones that stay beyond the wedding, especially if they have a picture on them. I still look at the STD's I've received from other friends almost daily.

So as you can tell... from how frequently I discussed what STD's we were going to be using (Read my third post about STD's here), I was really into ordering them. And although it only took about a year to pass between my first post about them to actually ordering them, they have been ordered and as we speak are on their way to my home now. I was lucky enough to win free STD's from Truly Engaging Blog! So, as soon as my engagement photos were delivered, I was on the road to figuring out which pictures to use and which design I wanted (see that post here).

FH and I definitely knew we were going to use pictures from our e-session, and so we just needed the right design to present as our first actual announcement for our big day. The one thing that made picking a design very easy on Magnet Street Weddings was that I knew that each design was customizable. From the colors we pick to the font we decide to use, I could make it my very own... and that's what we intended to do.

So, which design did we end up choosing?

Our color theme is the Gray with soft yellow and navy trim, thus, I customized it by

1. using Navy Font for some of the words, and then also used the Gray colored font for others.

2. The soft yellow comes in with the background flowers (not too strong, not too soft - but just enough)

3. Because our pictures are in black and white, I decided to go with a navy border around the pictures to really accentuate the borders.

I did try out several different ways to implement our color palette into this STD, but ended up using this one b/c I felt that the yellow in the flower pattern was really pretty and the best way to accentuate the yellow color.

Because the design studio was so easy to use, I was able to print the pdf to see how the magnet would come out. I had a few questions since I knew once I said "go" I couldn't change anything.  The customer service was beyond helpful and very patient with all my requests.  I have to say... so far, picking out my STD design and customizing it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.  And I loved knowing that no matter what, our STD's were completely unique to us... and I know I will love them.

Now... Waiting for them is the hardest part :) "

yay!  So fun!  Congratulations & thanks for sharing Amy Jean!
