Real Wedding: Mark and Cyndy

I'm pleased to bring you Mark and Cyndy's real California wedding today. Married outdoors on a gorgeous July day in Newport Beach ... Cyndy looked amazing in her asymmetrical/one shoulder embellished and bustled wedding gown {Mark was definitely looking dapper too}. I also loved their Mediterranean-Beach wedding theme. The reds and purples are elegant and refined yet playful and energetic at the same time. Awesomeness.

The wedding was held at the Balboa Inn Resort in Newport Beach, California and Deanna Tat of Chic Ambiance Events designed and coordinated the day. And, capturing all the details for Mark and Cyndy's pretty wedding was Marlin and Marlene Munoz.

Enjoy as Cyndy dishes on details and tells how they incorporated their Italian roots into the planning.

Colors: purples and reds

Wedding style We went for a Mediterranean feel with a little bit of beach thrown in. Our families are both of Italian descent and it was important to us to have that incorporated. The venue that we selected had this feel and we kept that throughout by using wine bottles and corks as decor. We also had a Mandolin and Accordion duo provide the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour and our favors included 5 Jordan Almonds (in Italian tradition) and traditional Italian nougat candies that my grandmother was sure to have at all our family parties.

Highlights of the day My main highlights were hearing the Mandolin and Accordion play as it reminded me of my grandfather who used to play at all of our family parties when I was growing up. We also managed to pull off our choreographed first dance despite having a much smaller dance floor than we expected! We also did an anniversary dance instead of a bouquet and garter toss. It was amazing to see how many couples we had that had been married 30+ years and were still so happy. Our longest couple has been married for 45 years! Also, I just enjoyed being able to relax and enjoy the day without having to worry about details. I had and amazing wedding planner and I didn't have to worry about a thing!

Advice you’re glad you took To not sweat the details because on the whole, the day was amazing and I married my best friend!

Advice you wished you took To have a videographer - no matter how much I tried to stop and look around, it still went by too fast and there are some moments that are just a blur!

Advice you’d like to give To stop and look around as much as possible. To really take in the feeling of the day, because the details will fade, but that feeling will linger on!

Best part of the whole wedding day Getting to share it with our family and friends, many of whom live far away and whom we don't see nearly as often as we would like. My husband is from Detroit and while I am from Southern California, we now live in Northern California, so almost all of the guests were people we rarely see. We also had guests from as far away as London and Japan (my maid of honor!)

Joyful and beautiful. Congratulations Cyndy and Mark ... and thanks so much for sharing your lovely day with us! We wish you every blessing imaginable!
