Sweetest Rustic Minnesota Wedding Ever!

Kyle and Natalie's Beautiful, Rustic Minnesota Wedding

Remember this adorable surprise wedding proposal, friends? Well, Natalie and Kyle got married and the proof is in their gorgeous rustic Minnesota wedding photos! We're very excited to share their big day--full of sweetness, smiles, and joy. Natalie, who looked simply stunning in her all lace gown with a corset back, said, "Everything went so smoothly, we can't think of anything that could have gone better." Some of our favorite highlights include their dreamy color scheme, rustic embellished stationery, and the way Aaron Robert Photography so tenderly captured our bride and groom. So, grab a cup of tea and enjoy as Natalie shares highlights from their beautiful day. The First Look

The first look was definitely a highlight; one of my favorite parts. It was such an exciting time to finally see each other and know that we were only a couple hours away from becoming husband and wife.

Surprised by calm!

As the ceremony began, I was surprised with how calm I felt. I didn't expect this--especially since I do not enjoy being the center of attention. But I was marrying my best friend. The confidence that I have in Kyle and our relationship quickly erased my anxious feelings and replaced them with pure joy. I absolutely loved walking down the aisle to him.

Best part of the day

Besides the first look, the best part of the day was the ceremony. Our Heavenly Father brought Kyle and I together; sharing that moment with all our friends and family was so meaningful. It was awesome to be a part of such a worshipful ceremony and give all the glory to Him!

Best advice I got {and would like to give}

The best advice that I got and would like to give is to remember the purpose of the day. It can be so easy to get caught up in the chaos of all the planning and details. The weather, the decorations, the food, the seating arrangements, the dress, and even the pictures are not the most important things of the day. The day is about marrying your best friend. I knew the day was going to be perfect as long as Kyle was waiting for me at the end of that aisle (I suppose the pastor was pretty important too). All the other details were simply extra blessings! I am so glad I had people continuously give me this advice as May 2 approached. By going into it with this mindset, I was able to laugh about the dirt stain and lip gloss stain that I got on my dress, smile about the unity candle getting wax all over our fingers during the ceremony, and shrug my shoulders about the au gratin potatoes that were undercooked. Remember the purpose of the day.

A Few Favorite Highlights

One of our favorites was having so many of our friends and family members there to support us. Our pastor did such a good job at making the ceremony personal and God-centered. The reception also went extremely well. Both Kyle and I had a choreographed father/daughter dance and mother/son dance. Those were so much fun to share with everyone. The speeches given were incredible and the dance was a blast!

Father-Daughter-Dance

My Dad and I

My dad and I choreographed a dance for our father/daughter dance. We did some thorough research on YouTube and found a few dances that other people had done. We did our best to make it our own and practiced it for about 3 months. We compiled a number of songs including "My Girl," "I want you back," "Can't touch this," "Billie Jean," "Thriller," and "Shake your tail feather." It was fun to surprise everyone with it. I knew people would expect something like that from my dad, but I think some were shocked to see that I agreed to it! Performing it was a blast, but the time we got to spend together practicing it was definitely cherished.

The Design Suite

Custom Wedding Stationery "Luminous Charm" design suite Luminous Charm Design Suite

I was able to find a style that fit the rustic theme of our wedding and customized it to be exactly how I wanted it! It was fun to have matching pieces for everything (invitations, programs, table numbers, name cards, thank you's, return labels and seals).

The Dress: My dress was an all lace Mori Lee dress with a corset back (it was great having a corset back, no stress about the dress fitting on the wedding day. It could just be tightened or loosened as I needed!) It was strapless with a modified sweetheart neckline. The train was just the right length: long enough to feel like a wedding dress, but not too long to inhibit walking. I loved having it only fitted to my hips. Made dancing a lot easier! It was so much fun to finally get to wear my dress for real! The Shoes: I had gold, sparkly Bandolino pumps. I usually never wear heels, so my mom told me to start breaking them in as soon as possible. I didn't take her advice so the shoes came off immediately after the ceremony. Needless to say, mothers know best! The Flowers: I had a gorgeous bouquet with pink and white roses and white hydrangeas. All my bridesmaids had simple bouquets with white spray roses, white mini gerbera daisies, and lots of baby's breath to give them a rustic look. Natalie-and-Kyle-husband and wife! Congrats!

Wedding Pro Shout Out

Aaron Robert Photography Aaron did such an amazing job. I'm usually not comfortable in front of the camera, but he made taking pictures natural and enjoyable! He is incredibly talented at using natural light to capture some awesome images! I'm so thankful for all the work he did! Jack Pine Studios Jeremiah also did such a great job at making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. He caught a ton of awesome footage and put together an excellent video that we will be able to cherish forever! Pletscher's Greenhouse Our flowers turned out better than I could have imagined! They fit the style of our wedding perfectly. I brought in pictures of arrangements that I liked and they combined elements from each to give me exactly what I wanted. So pleased with how they turned out! Trinity Evangelical Church and Eagan Community Center So happy with both of these venues! MagnetStreet Weddings My experience with MagnetStreet was great! I was able to find a style that fit the rustic theme of our wedding and customized it to be exactly how I wanted it! It was fun to have matching pieces for everything (invitations, programs, table numbers, name card, thank you's, return labels and seals). Shout out to the designers who put up with me and always made the many changes that I requested. I used the special request box on every order! The color was exactly what I expected and matched the bridesmaid dresses perfectly. It was very helpful to have the option of ordering samples. That made the decision-making process much easier. Best Wishes to Kyle and Natalie!
