Behind the Design: Peacock Wedding Inspiration

Happy Friday everyone! We're rounding out our Designer Week with a peek inside the inspiration for peacock wedding invites and stationery. We're excited to offer two brand new peacock-inspired  designs -- both of which I love! One features a trendy paisley pattern, while the other exudes traditional elegance through a vintage peacock illustration. Both designs are the creation of Lisa Sanders -- one of our fabulous wedding stationery designers here at MagnetStreet.

Below, Lisa talks about where she finds her creative inspiration for designs:

"Inspiration can come from anywhere, though walking around shops or galleries is one of my favorite ways to relax and get inspired. Be it furniture or fine art, I love when pieces of what I see translate into stationery design."

So where did Lisa find her peacock inspiration? And how did she translate that inspiration into design? Read below as Lisa takes us behind the design!

When we heard that brides were asking for more peacock invitation designs, I immediately thought of Anthropologie. You've probably been there, either at the physical store, or visiting them online. Their style is casual, yet interesting and unique. One look around and you'll be inspired to create more things than time allows {if you're anything like me, that is}!

Take this settee as an example. Its rich coloring, repeating pattern, the combination of paisley with peacocks -- all these elements beg to be used in an invitation ensemble. The result? The inspired invitation Peacocks & Paisley, which features a crisp white invite paired with a bold Half Moon Holder. The fonts complement the crisp, modern feel of this invite while the colors echo the palette of the settee. As you know, fonts and colors can be changed in Design Studio, our online personalization tool -- so you can personalize this invite to however your inspiration leads you!

Interpreting peacock in an entirely different direction, these lamps caught my eye. While big, bold colors grab my attention and lift my spirits, neutral colors are my mainstay. This Rustic Peacock Wedding Invitation was created with the vintage-loving bride in mind. The peacock illustrations mimic the highly detailed natural history drawings of the 19th century, and the neutral backgrounds and typography enhance the vintage effect. Not craving a vintage wedding stationery style? Play around with colors and fonts in Design Studio to see what other styles you can create! If you want you can get the cheap bridesmaid dresses from Rosa Novias AU, low price and high quality.

Now that you know a little bit of what inspires me, I'd love to hear where you're finding your inspiration! What's your favorite place to get inspired?
