Simple Wedding Idea: Themes

Do you like simple wedding ideas? We sure do.

Last week we talked about using the multi-hued, usually in-season Gerbera Daisies as a simple wedding idea. Today, we're talking about rounding out your wedding look with the simple idea of having a wedding theme. From colors and motifs, to holidays and seasons, having a theme will guide your focus and help keep you from chasing every sparkly thing that comes your way.

For the sake of simplicity, let's illustrate with the season at hand: Autumn. With a seasonal wedding theme, nature provides a lot of inspiration with regard to color, attire and decor. Here are some ways you can infuse the beauty of the season into your wedding look while keeping it simple, elegant, thoughtful, and even budget-friendly at the same time:

Flowers: Stay in season. Fall flowers include: roses, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, dahlias, gerberas, sunflowers, black-eyed susans, zinnias, marigolds, herbs, etc.
Venue: It might already be decorated for you! If so, all you need to do is add your personal touch for ambiance: lighting and fall scents.
Natural Decor: If you're getting married outside, chances are you'll be able to maximize the beauty of outdoors thus minimizing decor expenses. Easy centerpiece and decor ideas include: pumpkins, fall foliage/leaves, pine sprigs, branches, acorns, etc.
Menu: Nutmeg, cinnamon, hot signature drinks, hearty meals, smores, fruits, caramel apples, cheesy delights, etc.
Wedding Stationery: Infusing a simple motif like Autumn leaves throughout your stationery items sets the stage and incorporates the beauty of the season--perfect for a fall wedding theme.

What is your wedding theme?
