Mother’s Day and Bridal Teas

How will you be honoring your Mom this Sunday? Taking her out for brunch or lavishing her with flowers and/or gifts? I know that Moms love a day of rest, gifts, eating out... but what I think they really want~ is just our time!

Since tea is the new coffee...Why not spend a lovely couple of hours over tea with the Mom who leans towards the finer things?  Giver her an experience!  Prepare tea and use the fine china and lace tablecloth.  Eat finger sandwiches, scones, cookies or some other little delicacy.  How Fun!
I happened upon Kimberly Shaw tea cup cards this weekend and I picked one up for my Mom. They’re absolutely adorable with sweet illustrations of tea cups.  There's a slit in the tea cup that holds a real tea bag.  The teabag is fully visible when you open up the card.  Very cute.

Bridal Teas
Host a bridal tea for your Mom, Grandmother, and your soon-to-be Mother-in-Law!  Let those moms know how much they mean to you!  They'll love it as well as get to know each other a bit before the wedding.
Bridesmaids' Tea
Do your bridesmaids like the finer things too?

Host a tea for your bridesmaids.  It can be a great time to thank and gift them.  Have fun with it... dres up in full Victorian regalia: hats, gloves, scones, etc.

Tea-length dresses
  • How awesome is the wear-again bridesmaid's dress?  Your bridesmaids will love you and get lots of use out of a dress that is tea (knee) length.
  • Tea length wedding dresses (hem falls between knee and ankle, typically mid-calf) are not just for destination weddings but also fabulous for garden, outdoor or less formal weddings in general.  AND, often times~ wear-again!
