March in Minnesota: in like a lion and out like a lion too! That said, we have one more winter wedding for you and this one from Kristin Griffin Photography is chocked full of great photo ops and sweet sentiments. Alex and Emily had a gorgeous indoor February wedding in New England where blizzard conditions dropped almost a foot of snow on their big day. Oh, and Emily's family is from Florida.
There's just so much to love about this magical winter wedding--from their royal blue color scheme to Emily's creative wedding cake surprise for Alex. Enjoy!
Emily's "Something Old"
The rosary beads hanging from Emily's bouquet belonged to Alex’s great grandmother. Alex's grandmother placed them in Emily's bouquet. Emily said, "It was my something old, and it meant a lot to me.”
In Memory
Alex has two grandfathers that have passed, and we felt it was important to include them. We had a memorial candle for each, and a photo of each of them in frames on reserved seats.
Favorite Moment of the Day
Emily said, "Alex came with me to the original cake tasting and designing, but I decided to surprise him with a creative change. Rather than a simple white wedding cake, I had the baker make a half-and-half cake. One side is the original design, the other is a batman cake! As soon as the ceremony was over, I took Alex by the hand and led him to the cake. He saw the back (the traditional cake) and smiled saying how great it looked, then I brought him around to the other side and his reaction was priceless! I’ve never been so excited to spill a secret! Seeing how happy a simple change made Alex was my favorite moment of the day!”
Congrats Alex and Emily!
